How To Be Confident And Build Confidence

How To Be Confident.

Negative feelings are a massive dream killer when you’re learning how to be confident.

Remember the last time you felt a blow to your self confidence, and remember the negative feelings you experienced at that time? It’s not good for you to suppress those feelings, as they will get in the way when you’re learning how to build confidence, so you need a way to release them. Writing down your feelings, is a perfect way to get things off your chest and to clear your mind.

You can purge yourself emotionally by writing things down in a journal. You may want to purchase a simple notebook, specifically for the purpose of expressing your feelings on paper.

In recent years, blogs have increasingly replaced the conventional diary or journal, but take care if you choose an online forum to vent your feelings. There have been cases where people have lost their job after their employer read their blog. You may hate your employer, but it’s not a good idea to say so, especially on line!

In spite of the possible pitfalls, an advantage of expressing your feelings online in a blog, is that you are able to get instant feedback from readers. Whilst the feedback may be varied, it will enable you to see that not everyone has the same opinion. This is a valuable lesson when you’re learning how to be confident, as unconfident people often think that it’s them versus the world. Unconfident people will often say things like, “Everyone else does”, “Everyone else can”, etc.

Now that we have dealt with writing about negative things, we can move on to writing about positive things, as this plays a major part whilst you’re learning how to build confidence.

Create a list of your best accomplishments or personal qualities, as it works wonders for your self esteem. Make sure you place the list where you’ll see it frequently. If necessary, place multiple lists all over your home.

Another step in learning how to be confident involves writing about a positive experience that made you feel confident and happy. Writing about a happy time helps you relive the experience, and reminds you what it felt like when things went right.

You can also write about happy times in the future, otherwise known as ‘goals’. Picture yourself achieving your goal, as vividly as possible, then write it down as if it had already happened. Visualising it and seeing your goal in print makes it appear as totally realistic, and therefore it seems much more achievable .

Whether you keep it personal in a journal, or public in a blog, writing is an immensely powerful tool when you’re learning how to be confident.
